Songs for Cheer Music Mixes

Cruise (remix) by Florida Georgia Line feat. Nelly

This would be a fun song for a flowy dance section. I enjoy the rapping part especially, but if your school is a little more country than rock and roll, this could be a great addition to your cheer music.

Really Don’t Care by Demi Lovato feat. Cher Lloyd

This song has a solid beat and little bit of build. For that reason, I think it’s great for partner stunt section with transitions or just a big stunt. I don’t think it builds quite enough for a pyramid, but with the right sound effects behind it you could use it that way.

A Little Party Never Killed Nobody by Fergie, Q-Tip, and Goon Rock

This is such a fun song from the Gatsy soundtrack. The beat is great for cheer music. I think it could be used for stunt sequence or it uses the phrase “dance until we drop,” which screams to be used for a dance.

Neon Lights by Demi Lovato

This song has a great section that builds and builds. It would be a perfect addition to your cheer music for stunts, pyramids, or tumbling.

Sweet Nothing by Calvin Harris and Florence Welch

This song also has a great build. I think it would be best for tumbling, but stunting or anything else that builds up–even a dance if done right.

Girl on Fire by Alicia Keys

Obviously, as is, this song is too slow. But if you sped it up, I think it could be a great stunt or basket song for your cheer music.

My Songs Know What You Did in the Dark by Fallout Boy

The chorus of this song has so much power. Because of that, I think you could use it in your cheer music for just about anything but especially for stunts, jumps, tumbling.

It’s Time by Imagine Dragons

I love the drum beat at the beginning of this song, and it would definitely be a crowd-pleaser. I think it would be a great “soft opener” or could be used for stunting if mixed the right way.

Feel this Moment by Pitbull feat. Christina Aguilera

The beginning of the song has a great beat but some of the rest of it may need some tweaking for speed. I think it could be great for the jump section of your cheer music or routine. It could also work for a pyramid as she sings about her castle and all. It could be fun and a little dramatic if that’s your style.

Come and Get It by Selena Gomez

This one definitely needs to be sped up a little, but I think it could still fit in your cheer music as the background for a stunt sequence.

I Need Your Love by Calvin Harris with Ellie Goulding

Calvin Harris and his collaborations are all spectacular for cheer music mixes, so I just chose one that’s still making some waves. This one has a great beat, especially around the chorus. I think it would work well for a stunt sequence.

Hall of Fame by the Script feat.

I heard this song on Glee recently, and I’m not sure why it didn’t occur to me before to use it in a cheer music mix. It’s a great song. It may need some playing around with the tempo, but it could be great for some stunts or even tumbling.

What songs for a cheer music mix did you think I should have put on the list?
